02 Jul Pilot study with BillerudKorsnäs
DissOil is doing a pilot study together with BillerudKorsnäs, one of Sweden’s largest foresting companies, during this summer. The goal with the pilot study is to field test DissOil in actual oil spill situations in the forest and on forest roads. The pilot will also evaluate the package material, package size for the foresting industry and overall usability.
Twenty forest harvesting machines and ten timber trucks has been equipped with DissOil during the pilot study. This means that BillerudKorsnäs, together with their contractors, will be the first company in the world to evaluate DissOil in the field. We at DissOil are very eager to find out how the end users will react on DissOil compared to todays solution with a traditional absorber which need to be removed and transported to recycling/destruction once it has absorbed the oil (Todays method for handling oil spill in the forest).
BillerudKorsnäs has supported us during the development of DissOil. They have also participated in the independent scientific study that we have performed during spring 2018.
“BillerudKorsnäs is working towards a more sustainable and bio-based society, both regarding our own production and in our supply chain. DissOil is a very interesting product that might help us to minimize our environmental impact and ease the work for the forest workers. We are therefore very excited to do this pilot study together with DissOil”
